Abyss (“we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we
collect, use, and protect your data when you use the Abyss app and website.
  1. Information We Collect
  • From you: account details such as email and any profile information you choose to provide.
  • From connected services (if you choose to connect them): activity data imported via Terra, Apple HealthKit, or Strava, such as workout type, duration, distance, pace, heart rate, and related metrics.
  • Workout location data: if included in activity data from connected services (e.g., Terra), we may receive route or location information associated with that workout. We do not access your device’s GPS directly.
  • Activity data: Abyss may import and display workout metrics (including heart rate) from services you choose to connect. Depending on your jurisdiction, this may be considered health-related information. Abyss does not provide medical, fitness, or health advice. Activity data is informational and may not be accurate. Notifications (in-app and push) are generated using predefined system rules, not medical, diagnostic, or predictive analysis. Use your own judgment and seek professional guidance when appropriate..

2. How We Use Your Data

  • To show your activity and moments in your circle.
  • To send calm prompts when it’s appropriate (based on your settings).
  • To improve reliability and prevent abuse.
  • To provide support if you contact us.

3. Sharing of Data

  • We do not sell or rent your personal information.
  • We import data from services you choose to connect (e.g., Apple HealthKit, Terra, Strava).
  • We may use aggregated, de-identified data to improve the app.

4. Your Choices

  • Connect or disconnect services: You can choose whether to connect Apple HealthKit, Terra, or Strava, and you can disconnect them at any time in Settings.
  • Notifications: You can turn in-app notifications and push notifications on or off in your device settings and/or within the app.
  • Access and deletion: You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data by emailing support@joinabyss.com.

5. Data Security

  • While we take security seriously, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Children’s Privacy

  • Abyss is not intended for children under 16.
